UHAS IHR Hosts International Workshop on NTDs

The Centre for Health Policy and Implementation Research (CHPIR) of the Institute of Health Research of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho (UHAS) has successfully hosted a five-day international workshop on “A Neglected Tropical Diseases Community Drug Distributor Motivation Study in Uganda and Ivory Coast.”
The overall objective of the study was to understand the factors that motivate and sustain community drug distributors in the changing context of NTD control and elimination.
The workshop was held at the Main Campus of the University at Sokode-Lokoe, Ho as a follow up on data collected in Uganda and Cote D’Ivoire to enable the preparation of a report on the study.
Activities at the workshop also culminated in the drafting of a proposal for the second phase of the project to be submitted to DFID through the task force for Global Health for funding.
Participants at the workshop were from Canada, USA, Uganda, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya and Ghana. The workshop was held under the leadership of Professor Margaret Gyapong, the Director of the Centre for Health Policy and Implementation Research (CHPIR) of the Institute of Health Research of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho (UHAS).
